01Who we are

These terms apply to every order placed through ironglassair.com. The seller is:

IronGlass LLC
2014 Capitol Ave, Suite 100 #4004
Sacramento, CA 95811
United States
hello@ironglassadapters.com

AIR lenses are designed and manufactured at our production workshop in Lviv, Ukraine, and dispatched from there.

By placing an order you accept these terms. Please read them before you pay — particularly sections 04, 05 and 12.

02Consumers and businesses

Some parts of these terms apply differently depending on who you are.

You are a consumer if you buy for purposes wholly or mainly outside a trade, business, craft or profession. You are a business customer if you buy for use in a business — this covers production companies, rental houses, studios and independent operators purchasing through a company.

Consumers in the EU, EEA and UK have statutory rights that these terms cannot reduce. Where anything below appears to conflict with those rights, the statutory position wins. Business customers do not have those particular rights, and section 12 limits our liability more firmly for them.

If you give us a VAT or company registration number at checkout, we will treat you as a business customer.

03About the products

AIR lenses are rehoused cine lenses. The housing, gearing and mechanics are designed and manufactured by us. Depending on the series and configuration, the optical block may be original vintage glass rather than newly manufactured optics.

Vintage optics

Where a lens uses original vintage optics, its rendering carries the character of that glass — including field curvature, flare behaviour and focus falloff that differ from modern lenses. This is the point of the product, not a defect. Small variations in coating tone and contrast between individual units of the same model are normal and expected.

Images and specifications

Product images are illustrative. Screen calibration affects how colour and finish appear, and renders may differ slightly from the finished unit. Published weights and dimensions are subject to normal manufacturing tolerance.

We may improve a design during a production run. Where a change is minor and does not affect the specification you ordered, we may supply the improved version without prior notice.

Donor lenses

Where a configuration involves optics you supply to us, you confirm that you own them or have the right to send them, and that they are fit to be rehoused. We will tell you if we find a problem on inspection. Once rehousing work has begun the process cannot be reversed.

04How the contract is formed

Submitting an order and paying is an offer to buy on these terms. It does not by itself create a contract.

The contract comes into existence when we send you an order confirmation email accepting the order. If we cannot accept it, we will tell you and refund you in full.

We may decline an order where:

  • The item is no longer available in the configuration you chose
  • A price or product description was listed in error
  • We cannot ship to your destination lawfully — see section 10
  • Payment is declined, flagged, or cannot be verified
  • We reasonably suspect the order is fraudulent or intended for resale in breach of these terms

Order confirmation and dispatch notifications go to the email address you gave at checkout. Please keep it current — we have no other way to reach you about production timing.

05Price and payment

Prices

All prices are in US dollars. The price shown at checkout, together with the shipping charge, is the total we will take from you.

Prices exclude import duties, VAT and customs charges in your country. Those are payable by you on delivery — see shipping and delivery for detail.

We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already confirmed.

Pricing errors

If we discover an obvious error in the price of something you ordered, we will contact you before dispatch. You can confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund. We are not obliged to supply at an incorrectly listed price.

Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of order. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card details.

Your bank may apply a foreign transaction fee or a currency conversion spread on a USD charge. Those are set by your bank, not by us, and we cannot refund them.

06Production and delivery

Every AIR lens is made to order. Nothing ships from stock unless we tell you otherwise, so time to delivery is production time plus transit time.

Published lead times are estimates based on the current production queue, not guaranteed dates. We confirm your estimated window before your order enters production and keep you updated as it moves.

If we cannot deliver within a reasonable period and you no longer wish to wait, you may cancel and we will refund you in full.

Carriers, transit times, customs handling and duties are set out in shipping and delivery, which forms part of these terms.

07Ownership and risk

Ownership of a lens passes to you once we have received payment in full and the lens has been delivered.

Risk passes to you when you, or someone you nominate, takes physical possession of the goods. Until that moment a parcel lost or damaged in transit is our responsibility.

08Cancellation and returns

Your options for cancelling an order, withdrawing from a purchase or returning a lens are set out in full in our refunds and returns policy, which forms part of these terms.

In summary: you can cancel any time before dispatch; consumers in the EU, EEA and UK have 14 days from delivery to withdraw without giving a reason; and all customers have 30 days from dispatch to return an unused lens in its original condition.

09Warranty and conformity

We warrant that each lens matches the description and specification published on its product page at the time of your order.

Our commercial warranty covers parts and labour for the housing and mechanical components for one year from delivery. Extended 3-year and 5-year coverage is available at the point of order. The warranty is non-transferable and covers the original purchaser.

It does not cover accidental damage, misuse, work attempted by anyone other than us or an authorised service partner, or age-related wear of original vintage optics such as coating deterioration, haze, fungus or internal separation.

Consumers in the EU, EEA and UK additionally have a statutory right to a remedy for any lack of conformity present at delivery and appearing within two years. That right is free of charge, applies regardless of our commercial warranty, and cannot be excluded by these terms.

Full detail, exclusions and the claims process are in the refunds and returns policy.

10Export controls and sanctions

We are a United States company manufacturing in Ukraine, and our shipments are subject to US export law as well as the import law of your country.

By ordering you confirm that you are not located in, and not ordering on behalf of anyone located in, a country or territory subject to comprehensive sanctions, and that you are not a person or entity on a restricted-party list maintained by the US, EU or UK.

You also agree not to re-export or transfer a lens in breach of those controls.

If we cannot lawfully fulfil an order, we will cancel it and refund you in full. We may need to run these checks after payment, which is one reason confirmation is a separate step under section 04.

11Intellectual property

The AIR and IronGlass names and logos, the housing designs, and everything on this site — text, photography, renders, 3D assets and code — belong to us or our licensors. Buying a lens gives you the lens, not any right in our intellectual property.

You may not copy, reproduce or reverse engineer our housing designs or mechanical systems, or use our marks in a way that suggests endorsement or partnership without written agreement.

Footage you shoot with our lenses is entirely yours. We would be glad to see it, but we make no claim to it. If you send us material and give us permission, we may share it with credit; we will always ask first.

12Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

If you are a consumer

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or that arises because you used a lens in a way we advised against.

We do not exclude or limit your statutory rights in any way.

If you are a business customer

We exclude all implied terms, warranties and conditions to the fullest extent the law allows.

We are not liable to you for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of production time, loss of or corruption of data or footage, or any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises.

Our total liability in connection with an order will not exceed the price you paid for that order.

Cine lenses are professional equipment used on paid productions. If a lens fails on set, our liability is limited as set out above — it does not extend to the cost of the shoot. Business customers should carry their own production insurance and, for critical work, a backup option.

13Events outside our control

We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where the cause is beyond our reasonable control — including customs inspection, carrier disruption, industrial action, extreme weather, natural disaster, epidemic, failure of utilities or communications networks, and the effects of armed conflict on production and logistics in Ukraine.

If such an event affects your order we will tell you as soon as we can and give you a revised estimate. If the delay becomes unreasonable you may cancel and receive a full refund for anything not yet delivered.

14Complaints and disputes

If something has gone wrong, write to hello@ironglassadapters.com with your order number and what happened. We will acknowledge within two business days and aim to resolve it within 14 days. Most problems are settled this way.

Consumers may also have access to alternative dispute resolution or a national consumer protection body in their own country. Nothing in these terms prevents you from using those routes, or from bringing proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where the law gives you that right.

15Governing law

These terms and any contract formed under them are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Sacramento County, California have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, EEA or UK, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, and you keep the right to bring proceedings there.

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

16Other terms

Changes. We may amend these terms. The version in force when you place an order is the version that governs it — a later change does not apply retrospectively.

Whole agreement. These terms, together with the refunds and shipping policies, are the whole agreement between us for your order and replace any earlier discussion. This does not exclude liability for anything we told you fraudulently.

Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under a contract to another organisation, and we will tell you if we do. You may transfer yours only with our written agreement.

Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues in force.

No waiver. If we do not insist on a right immediately, that does not prevent us from doing so later.

Third parties. A contract under these terms is between you and us. Nobody else may enforce it.
